Eco-friendly car dismantling

There is much to think about in the environmental aspect of car dismantling. All cars contains several liquids and materials that are harmful to our environment, these must be disposed of properly, following these steps:

• The car is drained of fluids like motor oil, gear oil, glycol (antifreeze), washer fluid and fuel. These liquids are collected in closed containers for further environmental processing.
• The battery is taken out of the car and sent for reprocessing.
• The wheels are dismounted and rim and tire (containing HA oils) are separated.
• Heavy metals lead and mercury and the gas freon are handled separately and sent for environmental treatment.
• All glass gets removed from the body and sent for recycling.
• The body gets compressed to be transported efficiently.
• The body gets fragmented (broken down in a mill and separated into various fractions).
• The different metals are shipped to smelters for recycling.
